Jumping into the (not so) unknown

Welcome back!

This post is going to be a different one and also a short one.

Reasons for that are many. But we can talk about the main ones for it.

The idea is that this can serve as a checkpoint between all the things that have happened and all the ones that are going to in the future.

As you probably tell by the title, I'm going to be making some changes and taking on some challenges as well.

Due to how the current state of affairs in the world has been going on for the past 2 years. And seeing that is now as uncertain as it's ever been.

I'm changing things up. I'll be working for myself and seeking an ever-growing level of independence.

I also want to put my talents and skills to good use and in service of others, not just for big companies and conglomerates. Their paychecks might be big and bountiful, but I found that it just feels hollow.

I want to do, from now on, what could be called "purpose-driven development" or "PDD".

I've been thinking about this for quite some time already. Before I thought it didn't have to be a "this or that" question. I thought I could do both. And for some time... I actually did.

But I noticed that I have neglected one of the activities in favor of the other. I wanted the job to provide me with the necessary resources to put into the other activities.

And while that's been the case, for the most part, money is not that relevant when I can't put in the necessary time as well.

This year I've seen that I have an opportunity to continue doing the same and keep repeating the previous history or do something different.

Now, being true to myself, I can't keep repeating what's been done before. What's been happening around in the world has also given me those signs that I have to be prepared for change.

So instead of ignoring the signs and pretending that things are going to continue being the same, I'm gonna go and face the changes head-on.

That's why it's a leap into the unknown. Well, kinda unknown cuz I've tried it in the past couple of times but never really went fully into it.

This time I'm going all-in into it and see how much I can do or how well I can do it.

And this month, the month of my birthday, was a good time to fully realize that fact.

All in

What does that mean for you?

Well, for starters, it doesn't mean that I'm going to disappear and leave.

No, my dear reader, quite the contrary. I'll still keep writing in here about development. You know, both web and personal kinds of development.

If anything, I think I'll be writing more often than I had in the previous year.

And also, it'll give me a bit more time to work on that project I've been procrastinating but I feel it's getting more relevant than ever.

So that means more writing about web dev, faster learning, less distracted, and being an overall better developer and person coming from me.

That is pretty much it. Like I said, I don't want to drag on too long on this post and run the risk to start rambling (and then erase most of the post in the editing phase.)

Also, I'm sorry for not coming up with a different topic for the post of this month. But I felt I had to come out clean with this topic and not do as if nothing has happened and just keep things for myself.

So, next month we'll be going back to our regular programming. I'll be bringing a variety of topics and activities to be done as well.

If you read all the way to this point in this post (and any other in the previous months) I truly appreciate you. Thanks for giving me some of your time. Hope to keep making it worth your while in the coming months.

With that said, I'll be signing off for now but will catch you again next month.

See you soon
